A structured mentor program is generally recognized by having a commitment to a time frame that is usually twelve months or not less than a school year.
One of the overwhelming deterrents of being a mentor is the very basic issue of time. Individuals who volunteer to be mentors have other personal, family, and job-related commitments just like every other person. There is no rule as to the amount of time you should spend with your mentee. Just think about how much one hour of your week would mean to a mentee!
